After so many adventures during winter break, I’m finally tied down- five classes, work and an internship.
My trip to Mexico was the most unplanned trip I had ever been on. My friend Kaitlyn couldn’t extend her visa to stay in the states for another semester so is filling the last of her stay here full of trips. In order for her to have another 30 days in the states, she had to leave the country so she asked if I wanted to go to Mexico and I said, “Sure.” Next thing you know, my ticket was booked and there I was with Mexico in my future.
It is easily one my most memorable, unexpected adventures so far. Built lasting friendships, established new friendships, had tacos for days, churro rellenos, beer, the beach, no complaints!
I do wish I took more photos, but sometimes exploring is more enjoyable when you don’t have to see everything through a camera lens and you just live in the moment. Think Sean Penn in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Walter Mitty: When are you going to take it?
Sean O’Connell: Sometimes I don’t. If I like a moment, for me, personally, I don’t like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.
Walter Mitty: Stay in it?
Sean O’Connell: Yeah. Right there. Right here.
